Skydiving!

I went skydiving with my friend Claire for her birthday. I don't think that either of us expected it to be so difficult! While Claire was trying not to back flip, I was trying to stay relaxed, which is a lot more complicated than it seems- there were so many things to think about, not to mention how strong the wind was. The photos impressively make us look relatively competent. My smile is a somewhat forced. An amazing experience, which I'm glad I did, but I am not going to do this again! Definitely not from a plane either!

Gromit!!!

As part of Royston arts festival, an Aardman employee ran a workshop to create a model of Gromit. I joined it with 3 friends. Despite being the oldest people without children, it was a lot of fun and I came out with something that did indeed look like Gromit!

Sushi

I have now participated in a sushi cookery class, so I can now make hosomaki, futamaki, temaki, nigiri, uramaki and onigiri! I really enjoyed the class and despite eating lots of sushi during it, I still came away with loads of it and had to eat sushi for every meal the following day! Yum!

Dubrovnik

At the start of June, I went to Dubrovnik with my friend Claire for a week of sunbathing and cocktails. For a change we didn't overdo the sightseeing and come back from holiday shattered!

Lourdes

In Easter week, I went to Lourdes with 5 children with autism or aspergers and 8 other helpers to join the annual HCPT pilgrimage. A week of prayer, masses, trips, silly games and songs, chips, oranges and, most of all, fun!

New York Again

In March I went to New York for a relatively successful work trip. I was delighted to be able to get to see my friends, the Haases, but sad that I could only stay the weekend with them. During the rest of the the fortnight, outside work, I was able to explore the mid town area, including times square and seeing the Lion King musical on Broadway!

Funny Food

Thanks to something random happening to my stomach, I am now trying to stick to a crazy diet: Bye bye onions, mushrooms, peas and apples! Sorry to everyone who now invites me round to dinner, I know this is a pain!

Geneva

Geneva

My work has sent me to Geneva for a couple of trips. On one of these trips, I was able to re-arrange my flights to go and visit my friend Elaine in Baden, near Zurich.

Marlies' Wedding

Marlies' Wedding

In August I went to the Hague, via some sightseeing in Brussels, to visit my friend Marlies for her wedding. Here are a few photos from the trip.
