After our somewhat warmer plans of visiting a spa failed, Claire and I decided to visit Stratford for the weekend. We got a really good deal on a posh hotel in the middle of nowhere half way between Stratford and Warwick that served amazing food. I was in heaven - raw salmon, duck, pheasant, creme brulee, shortbread, sticky toffee pudding - yum! (Ps. This was eaten over 2 meals!). We were sligtly concerned about the bad weather on the Friday, but our day in Stratford on the Saturday was much better. We saw all the tourist sights and did a lot of window shopping. Sunday was spent at Warwick castle, where I was a complete wus going through one of the exhibitions and definitely avoided one of the exhibitions that was there deliberately to scare you. All in all a really fun weekend.
