I was really excited to see Machu Picchu, but highlights also included watching condors fly on the thermals in the early morning sunshine of Colca Canyon, visiting the floating islands on lake Titicaca, seeing sand tornadoes in the vast desert areas, spotting flamingos in the wild and seeing the moon up close through a telescope. It was certainly a memorable holiday and has given me lots of inspiration for new paintings. I just have to find time to get round to them now!

Peru
In September I went on a fascinating trip to Peru with my friend Claire. The scenery was spectacular! Nothing had prepared me for how big and imposing the Andes are.
