Thea's birthday

I went to London to celebrate Thea's birthday at a cocktail bar, then a restaurant near the beautifully lit up London bridge.
I have uploaded all my photos from that evening, so sorry if there's a bad one of you.

Summer holiday to Portugal

Vilamoura

Last week I went on holiday to Vilamoura in the Algarve with my uni friend Claire. Apart from lots of sleeping and relaxing, I went to Silves, the regional capital Faro and a boat ride along the coast. The food around there was fantastic, especially the seafood.

Apologies to all my Portuguese friends for not visiting them (and for not letting them know far enough in advance!), I promise to visit Lisbon next time I'm in Portugal!

Aloe Vera

This post is just proof for my Dad that I can grow plants and that all my aloe vera plants are thriving and will soon take over every one of my window ledges!

Another flat!

Once again I have moved out of my parents into a new flat. This is the nicest one yet - it is not on a busy main road, does not have a building site next to it and is not in a station car park. I am very lucky!
My phone numbers have also changed since I've got back, so if I know you and have forgotten to tell you them, please let me know.

Quarter of a century

Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate my birthday and for my birthday presents. I really enjoyed and appreciated it.

Bletchley Park

I went on a day trip with the British Computer Society's womens group to Bletchley Park, the location of much of the UK's code cracking during the 2nd World War. It was a fascinating day and was great to see working models of many of the machines that I studied about in cryptography lectures. I was a bit worried about how geeky I was to go on this trip, but felt very assured when the tour went into their National Museum of Computing and I turned off completely in a room full of old computers. I felt very out of place amidst others getting really excited about what looked like washing machines. I definitely prefered the clothes shopping I did afterwards!
